Legalese : FTC Blogging Guidelines

Legalese

Ever since the FTC released its FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION 16 CFR Part 255: Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (how's that for a nice short title?) back in December 2009, the online world has been buzzing quite a bit about what this means for bloggers who rely on affiliate links for income.

Here's the link to read the document yourself, but from my understanding of it, it's really not a big deal. The FTC is not concerned about straight affiliate income but rather paid endorsements, though it is still probably a super idea to cover your tail by having a disclosure about being an affiliate on your site. It just makes sense.
